Life is all about decisions. Each day you make countless decisions from the time you wake up until the time you go to bed. Deciding when to wake up and go to bed are in themselves daily decisions. Some decisions are very important and you give much thought to your final answer, perhaps even spending days or weeks because of the impact the results of the decision could have. Other decisions you probably make without really putting much thought into them. There are decisions God expects us to make as well. These decisions should be thought about very carefully, because they impact your life far greater than any other decisions. These decisions have eternal results and consequences to them. Consider some decisions of eternal importance.

Your decision to become a Christian or not. To choose not to become a Christian the way God has instructed in the Bible is a decision that will keep one out of the kingdom of God. Only those in the kingdom of God will go to heaven (1 Corinthians 15:24). To get into the kingdom you must be a believer in God and willing to obey (John 3:1-5). God wants you to be saved. God wants you to join Him in heaven. However, God leaves that decision up to you.

The decision of who you will marry. This decision has, perhaps, a greater impact on your Christianity than any other decision you will make. If you marry a strong Christian, dedicated to the Lord and serving Him, you are more likely to be faithful yourself. If you marry someone who is not a Christian, then it is going to be more of a struggle for you to remain faithful. Suppose you choose a mate who is a Christian in name, but not really dedicated to giving God what is best. This too could spell disaster in time. This person may choose to get less and less involved in the church and work of it. Marrying a strong, faithful Christian is a very important decision (Ephesians 5:22-33).

Career Decisions are important. Choosing a career can also be a big decision for the Christian. At times, you may be limited in choices. It could be that your current career is established and cannot change. Regardless of where you work, you can and should be faithful to God. To parents and those who have opportunity to help guide the young, may I encourage you to guide them in a direction that will help them to best be faithful to God? Career choices have caused many faithful children to miss too many church services, therefore, causing them to eventually fall away from the church (Galatians 5:4).

Decisions, decisions. What will you decide? Whatever you decide, decide to put God first (Matthew 6:33). Decide to go to heaven.

What does the Bible say about how we are to worship God?
