John Allan speaks on "The Importance of Home Instruction" on Seeking the Lost - International Radio.
Many families have heirlooms: items they pass down from generation to generation. Maybe you have an heirloom from your parents, grandparents, or even great-grandparents!
Many families also have a legacy: a reputation that has carried through time. Over the years they've become associated with something distinct and important.
Now, there's nothing wrong with passing down physical possessions from one generation to the next as a family heirloom. But in this lesson we'll consider something you can pass down that's more valuable (2 Timothy 1:5).
We'll also think about the legacy you want to create for your family and whether faith in God will be part of that legacy.
This lesson is about the importance of Bible instruction in the home. Some people think it's unnecessary or they should wait until their children have grown up to talk to them about religion. We'll see that both of these ideas are wrong.
We'll also discuss Proverbs 22:6 and answer some common questions about that verse.
Thank you for your interest in learning and obeying God's word. I hope you find today's lesson helpful.
