Have you ever felt powerless? Maybe you feel that way often. Today’s lesson is for you! We’re going to notice a profound principle. When you really appreciate this, it will change how you look at your life and the decisions you make.

  1. You have a choice. The Bible affirms that you have the power to decide for yourself. God has given us free will.

  2. Blame doesn't work. Even if it seems to work in the short term, it doesn't change our responsibility. It also won't fool God. We'll still be accountable for what we've done on Judgment Day even if we've blamed somebody else.

  3. We are accountable for our actions.

Conclusion: There are few things in life as empowering as accepting the truth that you have the power to make decisions and accepting the outcome of those choices.

Blame is when we attempt to shift our accountability off onto somebody or something else. It doesn’t work. "I am responsible for me."

Since we will be held accountable for our actions on Judgment Day the best course is to embrace personal accountability now.
